The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College is pleased to invite you to the True Blue Sister Summit this summer in Chicago!
The True Blue Sister Summit is a women’s empowerment summit taking place July 7-10, 2022 at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The event is open to all women.
This marks the first time that NAASC has combined its regional conferences into one spectacular event. Our inaugural theme is “Retool, Recharge, Reconnect” where attendees will have the chance to engage in interactive workshops focused on professional development (Retool), wellness (Recharge), and strengthening NAASC chapters (Reconnect). All workshops will be led by our dynamic Spelman alumnae. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with fellow Spelman alumnae & partners, learn about NAASC and its chapters, hear updates from Spelman College, participate in social activities, and much more!
True Blue Sister Summit is a collaborative effort between the regions of NAASC (Northeast, Southeast, South Central, Great Lakes, and Far West) and serves to replace the traditional biennial regional conferences.

The Covid-19 Pandemic is a constantly evolving situation and CDC guidance is frequently updated. Here’s what you need to know about the True Blue Sister Summit weekend:
- Do not travel if you have COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for results of a COVID-19 test, or had close contact with a person with COVID-19 and are recommended to quarantine.
- Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth is recommended in indoor areas of public transportation (including airplanes) and indoors in U.S. transportation hubs (including airports).
- Out of an abundance of caution, all attendees will be required to submit a negative result for a COVID-19 test (PCR or rapid antigen test) taken no more than 72 hours (3 days) before arrival. Directions for submitting test results will be emailed to all registered attendees, vendors, & guests.
- Attendees will be required to wear masks for all indoor programming unless in their personal space, eating, drinking, or socially distanced.
- While proof of vaccination is not required to attend the True Blue Sister Summit, other places in Chicago may require proof. Prepare to be flexible as restrictions and policies may change during your trip.

Prepared leadership is not a contrived notion but the driving force behind the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC). To understand the NAASC, it is important to understand Spelman College. When Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles founded Spelman in 1881, their mission was to develop and prepare strong women leaders in prime position to be game changers around the globe. Those same principles remain the hallmark of our institution today.
NAASC, a 501(c)(3), is the official organization of Spelman College alumnae that supports, encourages, and promotes growth & development of over 20,000 alumnae through leadership opportunities and partnership alliances. NAASC is committed to maintaining the extraordinary Spelman sisterhood that transcends generations, traditions, and continents. Learn more at naasc.org.
